F is one of the harder beginner chords because you have to push down 2 strings with one finger on the 1st fret (strings 1 and 2). Use your index finger for that. Then, use your 2nd finger to push the 3rd string on the 2nd fret and use your 3rd finger to push the 4th string on the 3rd fret. You can do it! F is intimidating to lots of newbies, but you MUST get past this hurdle to succeed at many songs. Good luck! Jennifer
