Being left-handed myself, I play on a left-handed guitar at my high school and a right-handed on at my house. If you try to look for left-handed ones, they’ll be really expensive, if you can find one at all. If you’re getting an acoustic guitar get it right-handed and have it strung for left-handed from someplace like Music-Go-Round. It takes about an hour to do it and it’s really cheap. It won’t limit you in any way I play better than some of the right-handed people in my class (I’m the only left-handed person in my class). You will be able to get regular lessons like a right-handed person because playing guitar is really all about finger placement. If you want to practice using a right-handed guitar, go ahead. Sorry if this is so long I just wanted to give the best advice I could give guitar is a fun thing to play; it can really be calming sometimes. Hope you got what you were looking for.

like the piano, the guitar uses both hands
there are no left handed pianos
and very few left handed instruments, of any kind
If you don’t start out with a “negative” feeling against a right handed guitar
that is what I suggest
Not only will you
A) find a LOT more guitar to choose from
B) find that guitars are cheaper
but lefties actually advance quicker on a right handed guitar, according to several teachers I have talked to
Since you have more dexterity in your left hand,
and the left hand is the “primary” hand, during your early years,
you have an easier time with the “fingering”
all the right hand does, is “pick” the strings
Well, I’m a lefty and I play right-handed guitar. It makes more sense, if you think about it. Your using your good hand to do all the hard stuff. That’s just what I think.
Simply put . NO And the resaons are simple. I am left handed and learnt right-handed and that is how I teach.
The reson is because your left hand is tronger, has more endurance, more speed. Why use that hand to hold a pick ? For those who suggest to play left-handed ? Don’t do it. You will thank me down the line.
Most of these good guitar players you see with good finger-tapping techniques are left-handed and they use the strong hand to finger the fret, not the weak one.
I used to teach left-handed who eventually switched and they are thankful. They tripled there techniques and speed. Goes to show you.
I was born left handed my second grade teacher would not let me use a pen or pencil in my left hand.I write right handed. When I was fourteen I got my first guitar it was a gift and right handed. My first lesson I wanted to play lelt handed but the teacher said learn right handed or buy a lefty guitar which would cost more money. I learned right handed but I always wonder If I had learned left handed If I would be any better. Maybe I could finger pick better? Any way left or right it’s all great! Have fun.

Yes, if you’re left handed, get a left handed guitar.
The music shouldn’t change. It may be be harder to find tablature.
